Skidmore-Wilhelm Bolt Testers
Skidmore-Wilhelm Bolt Testers
The Skidmore Wilhelm Bolt Tester is an essential tool for anyone who wants to ensure that their bolts are securely fastened. Whether you are in the aerospace, automotive, construction, or manufacturing industry, having bolts that are properly tightened is crucial for safety and efficiency.
“Bolt Testing” generally refers to using Skidmore-Wilhelm hydraulic load cells, including HS, MZ, S, and other models, to measure fastener performance through:
- Pre-Installation Verification (PIV) Testing and Rotational Capacity (ROCAP) Testing of structural fasteners per AISC/RCSC specifications.
- General fastener testing to establish torque/tension relationships.
- Testing components including, but not limited to, Hex Bolts, Tension Control Bolts, Anchor Bolts, Studs, Lock Nuts, and Direct Tension Indicating Washers.
Skidmore Wilhelm’s hydraulic tension calibrator, also known as a bolt tension calibrator, has been the industry standard for testing high-strength bolts since we invented the technology in the 1950s. These units are required for use on steel buildings, bridges, and other structures that use fasteners in tension-critical joints.
Our Skidmore-Wilhelm units can be safely used with hand torque wrenches, impact guns, electric wrenches, and hydraulic wrenches.
